In the afternoon of May 14, Zhang Qibiao, Director of the Haishu District People’s Congress Standing Committee, led a team to supervise the "Quality Improvement for Elderly and Childcare" project. Deputy District Mayor Zheng Yonglong and heads of relevant departments participated in the event.

Zhang Qibiao and his delegation visited the Haishu District Better Life Center to inspect its operations on-site. They held in-depth discussions with the center’s management, learning about age-friendly renovations, medical rehabilitation facilities, and other details. They also warmly interacted with elderly individuals undergoing rehabilitation training.

At the subsequent supervision meeting, the Haishu District Civil Affairs Bureau, Health Bureau, and Human Resources and Social Security Bureau reported on the progresses, measures, and plans for the "Quality Improvement for Elderly and Childcare" project. Zheng Yonglong delivered a speech for exchanges.

After carefully listening to the reports, Zhang Qibiao fully affirmed the progress of the project. He emphasized that comprehensive elderly care and childcare services are crucial for the health and well-being of the elderly population and the long-term balanced development of the district’s demographics.

Currently, all departments have attached great importance to the project, acting swiftly, and implementing effective measures, having achieved phased results.

Zhang Qibiao stressed the need to further raise awareness, adopt a problem-solving approach, and enhance interdepartmental coordination. He called for exploring innovative elderly care and childcare solutions tailored to Haishu’s realities, actively promoting the training and recruitment of professionals, and improving the expertise and service quality of caregivers. By taking multiple measures to refine the elderly and childcare service system, the district can continuously deliver tangible results in livelihood projects, effectively enhancing the public’s sense of gain, happiness, and security.
